Come to SEZs, Manmohan asks EU firms

Helsinki: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday made a pitch for European firms to take advantage of the special tax-free enclaves being created all over India.

"We want the EU to look at the expanded opportunities offered by our Special Economic Zones," Dr. Singh told the EU-India Summit here.

"We recognise the interest of the EU in measures that India will take to further liberalise FDI in areas such as telecommunications and retail, efforts to improve infrastructure... "
