Rally against sale of UNI shares

NEW DELHI: The Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees Organisations will organise a rally here on Monday to seek the Government's intervention in stalling the sale of majority shares in United News of India (UNI) to a media house.

The confederation also decided on Friday to contact all political parties, besides petitioning Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of UNI Employees petitioned Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
