NEW DELHI: A manager of UCO Bank was shot at and injured and robbed of Rs.29 lakhs by two assailants at Sangam Vihar in South Delhi on Friday. He is now battling for his life at Batra Hospital. According to the police, the robbery took place around 2-45 p.m. when the 40-year-old bank manager, Vinod Dogra, was on his way to deposit the money in the bank headquarter office at Saket. He had just stepped out of the bank when two men on a motorcycle intercepted him and tried to snatch the bag containing the money. Vinod offered resistance at which one of the assailants fired at him, snatched the bag, and fled. Vinod sustained a gunshot injury in the stomach and was rushed to Batra Hospital where he was operated upon and then shifted to the Intensive Care Unit. A case of robbery and attempt-to-murder has been registered at the Sangam Vihar police station. The police are trying to gather information about the gangs employing a similar modus operandi to commit robberies in a bid to identify the two culprits.
