Kalam to attend Manipur convocation

Imphal: President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will attend the 10th convocation of the Manipur University here on Monday.

Heightened patrolling

Patrolling has been intensified for his visit and in view of a general strike called by insurgents for Sunday, official sources said on Saturday.

The strike has been called in observance of `Black Day' by insurgents of the Manipur People's Liberation Front.

These outfits protest every year against the merger of the State with India on October 15, 1949. — PTI
