Afzal finds solace in Koran

NEW DELHI: Mohammad Afzal Guru, sentenced to death in the Parliament attack case, has sought refuge in novels and scriptures in his cell in Tihar Jail here.

"He asked for a few Urdu novels and a copy of the Koran, which have been provided," jail sources said.

Afzal was also permitted to move about in the courtyard and garden near his cell. "As he was confined to his cell, he was getting bored. Therefore, we granted him permission to move around," the sources said.
