Goa bundled out cheaply

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad skittled out Goa for 159 on the first day of the South Zone under-22 three-day cricket tournament for the P. Ramachandra Rao Trophy at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal) here on Saturday.

Medium-pacers M.P. Arjun (four for 53) and P.S.S. Bharat Kumar (three for 33) were the main wicket takers. In reply, Hyderabad was 22 for no loss in eight overs at close of play.

The scores (1st day): At Uppal: Goa 159 in 79.3 overs (M.P. Arjun four for 53) vs. Hyderabad 22 for no loss.

At Gymkhana: Kerala 149 in 85.5 overs (Amit Varma five for 16) vs. Karnataka six for no loss in three overs.

At NFC: Andhra 228 for five in 90 overs (V. Sandeep 70, M. Sashavali 41) vs. Tamil Nadu.
