Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh BJP on Saturday demanded dismissal of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Singhi Ram and a CBI probe into the allegations of criminal intimidation and misuse of position made against him by a woman employee of the civil corporation. Addressing a press conference here, State BJP spokesman Randhir Sharma said the allegations were of ``serious nature ranging from amassing wealth and criminal intimidation to misuse of position.'' He said the woman, who claimed to be a close relative of the Minister, had approached the police, Human Rights Commission and other grievance redressal bodies but ``no action has so far been initiated.'' Under such circumstances, the allegations should be probed by the CBI, he said. Mr. Sharma alleged that this was not an ``isolated case'' and there were several other Ministers facing corruption charges but continuing in the Ministry. The BJP spokesman also alleged that the inquiry into CPMT paper leak case instituted following directive of the High Court was being ``delayed due to pressure from the Government''. The investigating officers were under pressure to ``go slow'' and not disclose the names of political bigwigs and their relatives, allegedly involved in the scam, he claimed. He said the probe should be completed at the earliest in a fair and impartial manner and the guilty should be brought to the book.
