NEW DELHI: Wildlife enthusiasts are in for a spectacular treat. Animal Planet brings some of its best international award winning programmes under the series, "Award Winning Animal Planet". Exploring the wild world through the eyes of humans and capturing the interplay of emotions, the award winning programmes will be aired from October 16 to December 25. "Jane Goodall's State Of The Great Ape", to be aired this Monday, examines great apes including gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans. "The Biggest Nose In Borneo", which will be shown on October 23, showcases the proboscis monkey that has managed to make a home in the tropical jungles of Borneo. Viewers will discover how the monkeys survive in the dwindling jungles, deal with death in the family and endure terrible droughts. "Gorilla Gorilla" on October 30 tells the story of Damian Aspinall's first major project to create new gorilla groups just by rescuing local orphaned African gorillas, and then by relocating young gorillas, reared in England, in their natural African habitat. In "Lyndal's Lifeline", which will be aired on November 6, animal advocate Lyndal Davies will be presented with six grassroots rehabilitation centres with Animal Planet's 10,000-dollar donation. "The Temple Of The Tigers" on November 13 would show a small, isolated monastery in Thailand and a handful of simple, peace-loving Buddhist monks performing their daily chores -- praying, collecting alms and feeding their ten wild Bengal tigers.
