Project presentation

CHENNAI: The Jump Project Management Consultants will be presenting the Microsoft Office Project 2003 EPM program on October 28 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Hotel Green Park, Vadapalani. Eye camp

Pammal Sankara Eye Hospital in association with Sindhi College of Arts and Science conducted an eye camp at Dr. Arulappa Higher Secondary School, Neerpair, Maduranthagam, in Kancheepuram on Saturday. Fourteen were referred for cataract surgery. Fifty-five were given free medicines and nine were prescribed glasses.

National award

U. Puthiyavan, student of SKR Engineering College, won the NIT Kozhikode national award for best B. Tech Project, instituted by the Indian Society for Technical Education, for his project on `EM Mobile Detector'. Y. Yogapriya and R.D. Sagila of the same college have been selected for the `Innovative Students Projects Award 2006' by the Indian National Academy of Engineering for their project on `Railway Station Signalling Using Embedded System'.

Workshop

A workshop on `Unlocking the Uncertainties' will be conducted for parents, professionals and students between 3 and 6 p.m. on Sunday at No. 8, Dhanalakshmi Colony Main Road, Vadapalani, by B. M. Exams postponed

The written competitive examination of Teachers Recruitment Board for the recruitment of senior lecturers for DTERT/DIET will be held on Monday instead of Sunday, in view of the local body elections.

Handwriting workshop

Sri Ranjeeth Nursery and Primary School will conduct a workshop on `Handwriting Improvement Techniques' for children of ages five to 10 on Sunday at No. 94/13, East Jones Road, Saidapet, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The registration fee is Rs. 200, inclusive of material provided by the organisers. Competition
