MoU signed with private doctors to serve poor patients

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Health Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 47 private practitioners so far under the "Vikalp'' scheme.

These specialists would provide their services to 30,000 families living below the poverty line, according to Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Health, Urvashi Gulati.

She said that the scheme is being implemented in all the districts through public private partnership(PPP).

The primary objective is to provide specialized service to the poor by tapping the private practitioners operating through well-equipped private nursing homes or hospitals.
