CHANDIGARH: Even as a court in Haryana has held Punjab police inspector Gurmeet Singh Pinki guilty of murder of a Ludhiana resident, the police has yet to start disciplinary proceedings against the cop. ``Punjab police is still awaiting the court orders. Only after that action will be initiated against the police personnel (Pinki),'' Punjab police chief S S Virk told reporters here on Sunday when asked what action was taken against Pinki also popularly known as ``encounter specialist.'' ``So far, the police department have not received anything from the court on Pinki,'' he added. A Haryana court held Pinki, an inspector with Punjab police, guilty of murder of Avtar Singh Gola on September 30 and had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against him. However, Pinki did not appear in the court on October nine and his counsel moved an application that he was unwell. The case was adjourned for October 17. The court was to pronounce the quantum of sentence for Pinki. Meanwhile, Haryana police had constituted a special team, on the directions of the court, to arrest Pinki.
