JAIPUR: Rajasthan Governor Pratibha Patil has said the State should make efforts to achieve intellectual and technical strength by first becoming a strong financial power to ensure all-round development. Addressing a golden jubilee function of the Manikyalal Verma Labour College in Udaipur on Saturday, Ms. Patil said the fast pace of changes in all sectors in the 21st century had put before the State the challenge to build a new society where equal opportunities were available to all sections. Ms. Patil said each section of society should have access to higher education as well as technical skills. "Achieving literacy for a significant section of population alone will not ensure all-round development. Integrated efforts are needed to attain technical and intellectual capabilities,'' she said.
