Palakkad: Perform or perish. That's Kerala Cricket Association's message to its players on the eve of the Jacob Trophy State senior inter-zonal cricket championship, which begins at the Fort Ground here on Monday. South takes on Central in the opening three-dayer. "The next nine days will be pretty crucial for the players because we are going to be strict with our selection. Only the very best will be considered," said T.C. Mathew, the KCA Secretary. Speedster S. Sreesanth has now recovered from his recent toe injury and is likely to play the initial matches for Kerala this season. "Prasanth Chandran and Tinu Yohanan will add further sting to the attack. So, once we win the first three matches then we concentrate at the away matches against Goa and Railways, " said Mathew. The schedule (Jacob Trophy): South vs. Central (Oct 16-18); North vs. South (Oct 20-22); North vs. Central (Oct 24-26). KCA Trophy: KCA `Red' vs. KCA `Blue' (Oct 29-Nov 1).
