Man stabbed to death

BANGALORE: A man was stabbed when he attempted to prevent a group of three persons from stealing construction material in Ulsoor police station limits on Saturday night. The man later died in a hospital.

The police gave the name of the victim as Jayavelu (33), a native of Namakkal in Tamil Nadu and employed by a construction company at Whitefield.

The police said Jayavelu was engaged in construction work on Palani Mudaliar Street when the incident occurred.

When he saw three persons escaping with the material, Jayavelu gave them a chase. But he was stabbed by one of the miscreants in the stomach. The Ulsoor police have registered a case.
