Exhibition

The Karnataka Lalith Kala Academy is organising an art exhibition and workshop as part of the "Thingala Chitra" programme from October 16 to 21 at Kannada Bhavan, Chalukya Section, 2nd Floor, Varna Gallery. Artistes Thirunavukarasu, Ramesh K. Udupi, L.N. Manokar and Vijay Vaikeresuru will conduct the workshop. The inauguration is scheduled at 6 p.m.

Programme

Mecon Communication Club is conducting a Communication and Leadership programme under the guidance of Toastmasters International, U.S. on Monday. The programme is scheduled for 5.45 p.m. at Mecon, South End Road, Basavanagudi.

Course

M.P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research is conducting a course in Astrobiology from November 7. The classes will be held from Tuesday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. for three weeks.

Stir threatened

Members of the Kannada Sangha of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Contractors' Association have threatened to strike work from Monday to protest against the delay in clearing pending bills by the BMP.

They plan to hold a demonstration in front of the BMP office on Monday. A press release from the association stated that the BMP was yet to clear bills to the tune of Rs. 120 crore.

Man loses cash

A Hyderabad-based person, who had come to visit ISKCON temple, lost his Rs. 3.9 lakh in cash while travelling in a bus to the temple on Sunday.

According to the police, Manivannan came to the city in the morning and boarded a city bus to the temple from the Kempe Gowda bus station. He was carrying a bag that contained the money. When he got down from the bus he noticed that the money was missing.
