NEW DELHI: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Goel on Sunday met the family members of Delhi Police Inspector Devender Manchanda who allegedly committed suicide this past Friday. Mr. Goel also supported the family's demand to conduct a CBI inquiry into the whole episode. Stating that the incident has not only shocked citizens but has also affected the morale of the police force as its head was now in the dock, Mr. Goel said he would soon meet Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi B. L. Joshi and seek their intervention in the whole issue. According to Mr. Goel, there were some norms for a suspended police official that were violated.
