Bar Council directive

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Bar Council has asked advocates to boycott all functions in which Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph is participating.

The decision was taken at a marathon meeting held here on Sunday in response to the statement made by Mr. Cyriac Joseph in Chitradurga recently. He had allegedly said that advocates were responsible for corrupting the judiciary.

In a resolution, the Bar Council said the Chief Justice's statement was causing insult to the judiciary.

It decided to condemn his statement.
