TRADITIONAL BEGINNING: District Collector M. Beena lights a lamp to mark the inauguration of `Momentum-2006' organised by the Mechanical Engineering Association of the Government Engineering College in Thrissur on Monday.
Thrissur: Industrial development being created by a revolution in information technology should have a human face, District Collector M. Beena has said. Inaugurating `Momentum - 2006', a technical festival organised by the Mechanical Engineering Association of the Government College of Engineering here on Monday, the Collector said developments in science and technology had no value unless they were for social welfare and peace. K. V. Narayanan, principal of the college, presided. S. Gopakumar, general manager of Apollo Tyres, delivered the keynote address. T. Krishnakumar, convener, C. P. Sunil Kumar, president, Mechanical Engineering Association, N. V. Balagopalan, president, Parent Teacher Association, and U. Rajesh, chairman of the College Union were present on the occasion.
