LITTLE POET: `Kunjikkinavukal,' a booklet by Sabari Nair S., being released by George Onakkoor in the city recently.
Kunjikkinavukal, a compilation of short poems in Malayalam by Sabari Nair S., a class VII student of Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom, was released in Thiruvananthapuram recently. The compilation, brought out by the Kerala Balasahitya Institute, is in the form of a booklet. There are over 20 poems in the collection. They include `Kathakali,' `Megham,' `Therali,' `Sooryan,' `Nadinte Dukham,' `Bhoomi,' `Marangal,' `Sooryakanthi,' `Mazha,' and `Sandhya.' A resident of Kaimanam in Pappanamcode, Sabari Nair won the first prize at the CBSE youth festival in 2004. He has also published six of his poems in the school magazine. The 30-page booklet, with a forward by Pala K.M. Mathew, chief editor, Balasahitya Institute, was released by George Onakkoor, novelist and literary critic, by handing over a copy to Mathew Thengumpally, Principal of the school. Sangeeth Kurian
