Collector finds time for students

Kozhikode District Collector A. Jayathilak is busy. It is not just the files at the Collectorate and Government-sponsored programmes that keep him on a tight schedule.

Heads of schools and colleges are seeking his precious time for interactive sessions with their students. The first programme was held at the Government Higher Secondary School in East Hill on Monday under the initiative of the Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension Services (ACEES) of Calicut University. Officially a list of 40 higher secondary schools in Kozhikode has already been prepared, says C. Naseema, ACEES director.

Dr. Jayathilak also seems to be enjoying the programme. On Monday he was scheduled to speak for an hour at the school from 9.30 a.m. Seeing the response of the students he continued for another 15 minutes.
