Malayalam plays to be staged on October 29

CHENNAI:
The tagline of this theatre festival goes `One cast, one stage, four plays.'
Preman Meladi directs the series of Malayalam plays to be staged at the Kerala Samajam on October 29. The festival gets underway at 5 p.m. with the staging of thespian G. Sankara Pillai's `Moonnu Pandithanmarum Parethanaya Oru Simhavum'. This will be followed by A. Shantakumar's `Daham' and `nte Pullipayye Karayane' and M. Sajitha's `Matsyagandhi'.
"It is rare, perhaps even unique, for one cast to enact different plays," said Mr. Meladi. The plays are of approximately half-hour duration.
The cast comprises C.K. Shaji, Girish Karanmel, Satheesan, Pravin, Vatsala Krishnankutty and Girija.
