Regulations on parking in city from today

It is in view of the Deepavali festival

Coimbatore: In view of the heavy rush in the shopping areas of Coimbatore city for the coming Deepavali festival, the administration has announced a temporary ban on parking of vehicles (four-wheelers) on Cross Cut Road, Nanjappa Road, D.B. Road, Range Gowder Street and Oppanakkara Street.

The vehicles can be parked at designated parking lots. A press release from the City Police Commissioner, Karan Singha, said that people visiting Nanjappa Road could park their cars on Circus Ground.

Visitors to Cross Cut Road could park their vehicles on a vacant land belonging to the Corporation on Kalingarayan Road - Cross Cut Road Junction.

People visiting D.B. Road could park their vehicles on Sastri Maidan belonging to Corporation on West Arokyasamy Road - Subramaniam Road Junction and at Meenakshi car parking ground. People visiting Range Gowder Street could park their vehicles on a vacant land belonging to the Corporation near the B 2 (Law and Order) Police station - just opposite Flower Market.

People visiting Oppanakkara Street could park their vehicles at the Corporation parking lot near Town Hall Clock Tower.

Pay and park facility should be used wherever possible. Adequate lighting and security arrangements have been done at these parking lots.

The new parking regulation would come into force from Wednesday morning.
