KOTTAYAM: Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT), the Government engineering college here, would remain closed for five days due to campus violence. According to authorities, the students held their annual techno-cultural festival last week and there had been some altercations following this. On Monday, students owing allegiance to the Students' Federation of India (SFI) and the Kerala Students' Union (KSU) engaged in violent protests injuring about half a dozen of them. Things took a turn for the worse in the evening when yet another bout of violence followed.
