JIRS advances

BANGALORE: Jain International Residential School (Bangalore Rural) and Delhi Public School (DPS-South, Bangalore) and romped into the semifinals of the boys' under-14 section in the CBSE Cluster VII table tennis tournament organised by JIRS under the aegis of CBSE (New Delhi) here on Tuesday.

While DPS defeated Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Hyderabad) 3-1 despite losing the first game, JIRS blanked Citizens School (Nanjangud).

The results: Boys: U-16 (pre-quarterfinals): Jyothi Kendriya Vidyalaya (Bangalore) bt National Hill View Public (Bangalore) 3-1; Lourdes Central School (Mangalore)bt DPS (South-Bangalore) 3-1; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Hyd) bt Little Rock India School (Brahmavar) 3-1.

U-14 (quarterfinals): MRPL (Mangalore) bt V.S. St. John (Gannavaram) 3-0; DPS (South- Bangalore) bt Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Hyd) 3-1; JIRS bt Citizens' School (Nanjangud) 3-0; Amritha Vidyalayam, Mysore, bt Chirec Public School (Hyd) 3-1.

Girls: U-16: (quarterfinals): The Oxford Sr. Secondary (Bangalore) bt National Hill View Public (Bangalore) 3-1. — Principal Correspondent
