JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government will shortly appoint administrative officers in each panchayat samiti across the State to monitor supply of midday meals to schools and check the records of the scheme, availability of food material and utensils and arrangements for cooking. State Midday Meals Scheme Director Sudhansh Pant said here on Tuesday after visiting Chittaurgarh and Dungarpur districts that regular monitoring would ensure supply of good quality of food to the school children. Officers have already been deputed in Chittaurgarh for carrying out inspection in each panchayat samiti once every fortnight. Mr. Pant said six hi-tech kitchens are being constructed in Chittaurgarh in collaboration with Hindustan Zinc Limited and Nandi Foundation for cooking food for 1.75-lakh children. While these kitchens are coming up at Gangrar, Chittaurgarh, Nimbahera, Kapasan, Begun and Pratapgarh, a kitchen has started functioning at Bhawanipura for about 10,000 children. Hindustan Zinc has given Rs. 65.52 lakhs for the Bhawanipura kitchen and Rs. 80 lakhs each for the kitchens at Chittaurgarh, Nimbahera and Kapasan. Besides, Aditya Cement has made a contribution of Rs. 75 lakhs for constructing a central kitchen at Mandaphiya. In Dungarpur, a hi-tech kitchen is being established at Sagwara in collaboration with the Nandi Foundation to cook meals for 37,000 schoolchildren. .
