More post offices to receive passport applications

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Ministry of External Affairs has in collaboration with the Department of Posts, has decided to extend the facility to submit passport applications through more Speed Post Centres and Post offices. This is in addition to the existing District Passport Cells attached to the Offices of Superintendent of Police in each district.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts, applicants can, henceforth, submit their applications for passports at the following Speed Post Centres/post offices - Trivandrum SPC, Thycaud HO, Attingal HO, Neyyattinkara HO, Nedumangad SO, Sasthamangalam SO, Kariavattom SO, Varkala SO, Kollam SPC, Punalur HO, Kottarakkara HO, Thiruvalla SPC, Adoor HO and Pathanamthitta HO.

The applicants need not pay any additional service charge to the Speed Post Centres. They need pay only the usual application fee of Rs.1,000. The Ministry of External Affairs will reimburse the service charges on each application to the DoP.
