KADAPA: Kadapa Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy called upon people on Tuesday to use homoeopathic pills to prevent dengue fever, as no curative medicines would work. He distributed homoeopathic pills to contain dengueat a medical camp organised here for families of police personnel, as part of Police Commemoration Week. The homoeopathic pills used as preventive drug increases immunity, he said. Adults should take five pills a day for three days and children three pills a day. He released pamphlets which detailed preventive measures. During the week, police organised a blood donation camp, held a rally and conducted open house sessions in police stations, he said. Homoeopathic physicians D. Sambamurthy and P. Subbaraju said dengue was a form of viral fever spread by tiger mosquitoes, even as chikungunya was prevalent since four to five months. There was no specialised treatment, vaccine or curative medicines for dengue and hence preventive measures were imperative, they said.
The symptoms
High temperature of 103 degrees, vomiting and severe headache were symptoms of dengue fever, they said.
