Illegal power racket smashed

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Following a series of raids in a joint operation that spanned six weeks, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited enforcement teams and 10 Delhi Police personnel claim to have detected and demolished an illegal power distribution network that was allegedly running parallel to the existing network of BSES in Tughlaqabad area of South Delhi.

The illegal network was being run by a group of local musclemen who were allegedly stealing over 140 KW of electricity from BSES LV mains and supplying it to 600 domestic and 200 commercial and industrial units in a nearly one square kilometre area.
