KARIMNAGAR : Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrashekhar Rao has launched his electioneering for the by-elections to Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency from Metpally Assembly segment on Tuesday by offering prayers at Gundi Hanuman temple in Ibrahimpatnam mandal. In view of Ramzan festival and to woo Muslim voters who constitute about 1.7 lakh in the Parliamentary constituency, the TRS leader had decided to organise Iftar parties in the Muslim-dominated Metpalli, Korutla, Jagtial and Karimnagar towns during his four-day stay in the district. Accordingly, the first Iftar party was hosted by the TRS in Metpally town on Tuesday. Incidentally, the TRS president is visiting Karimnagar district second time after resigning to his MP post. Besides, Mr Chandrashekhar Rao will have meetings with party legislators, local bodies representatives and chalk out strategies for the elections. The TRS president would be also collecting feedback from party leaders about the prevalence of Telangana sentiment at the grassroots in the villages and take appropriate measures to further intensify the movement for Telangana statehood. According to party sources, the TRS was planning to organise Assembly constituency-wise meetings, appoint in-charges for seven Assembly segments and also for each and every mandal for the intensifying electioneering. On the other hand, the TRS is also planning to rope in the disgruntled elements of other parties into its fold.
