"DMDK is a growing force"

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Votes polled by the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Munnetra Kzhagam in the Madurai Central Assembly by-election has proved that it is a growing political force in the State, party president Vijayakant said on Tuesday.

Mr. Vijayakant said that like the previous elections, the party contested on its own. Right from the beginning, it wanted to bring probity in politics.

Describing the DMK's victory as temporary, he alleged that the party had won using muscle and money power. On the other hand, the DMDK did not offer any false promise to people or bribe the voters. The votes the party had polled were for the purity in politics.
