NCC cadets return with medals

CHENNAI:
It was a jubilant day for 46 senior division cadets of the National Cadet Corps who returned to Chennai with medals from the All India Vayu Sainik Camp held in Bangalore.
The contingent, including 36 boys and 10 girls, came second at the national-level competition conducted for Air Wing NCC cadets. The cadets, led by flying officer Satish, represented the Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman Nicobar Directorate at the camp, which was held between October 5 and 16.
They were felicitated by senior officers of the NCC Directorate, (TN, P and AN) at the Madras Medical College on Tuesday.
The contingent won four gold medals, and a silver and bronze medal each in various competitions. Sundari and Bharath bagged gold medals in the aero modelling control line speed event. Lakshmi Priya won the gold medal in the skeet shooting.
