RARING TO GO: Children arrive at the St. Aloysius High School in Mangalore on Tuesday.
MANGALORE: The block-level Pratibha Karanji competition which was held here today offered a delightful fare for those who visited the venue at St. Aloysius High School in Mangalore where the competition was held for the primary school children from to 5, 6 and 7th standards. These children had earlier won their cluster-level competitions in September. According to the block education officer Walter D'Mello the high school-level competitions will be held at Sarojini Madhusudhan Kushe School at Attavar on two days beginning from Wednesday. It should have been held on October 6 and 7 but owing to the communal clashes they could not be held. Nearly 3,000 children participated in cluster-level competitions from 154 schools. It gave an opportunity to the children to showcase their talents.
Participation
In the district-level competitions, which will be held in Belthangady in November the department, expects a participation of over 15,000. Some parents said the children had really stretched the canvas as they brought every possible performing art onto the stage. The theme of many stage events was patriotism.
