Commodity prices

The following were the rates (Rs. per kg) of essential commodities in local wholesale market on Tuesday, according to the Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Groundnut oil-61.50, Palmolein oil - 44, Sunflower oil-55, Tamarind (flower variety) 28 to 31, Chillies - 60 to 70, Rice (2716)-14, Rice (superfine)-15, Rice (sona masoori)-18 to 19, Rice (samba masoori)- 16, Black gram-54.50, and Red gram-23 to 31.

Loans distributed

Loans of Rs. 20 lakhs were given to SHGs in divisions 14, 15, 16, 22, 23 and 24. The Krishnalanka branch of Andhra Bank distributed the loans at APSRM School. Vijayawada East MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna and West MLA Sk. Nazar Vali attended. .

Lucky draw

Tata Tea Company, Bangalore, held a lucky draw for its "Chakra Gold Tea" brand wholesalers of the State. Kavali dealer Sai Krishna Fancy won the bumper prize. The draw was conducted at Hotel Fortune Murali Park.
