Entry restrictions at counting centres

The Inspector General of Police, West Zone, K Rajendran, has announced that only the staff on counting duty and those authorised by returning officers would be allowed into the 220 counting centres where the votes polled in the local body elections would be counted on Wednesday. Anyone trying to enter the counting centres with weapons would be instantly prosecuted. Any attempt to enter the counting centre without authorisation would be dealt with seriously, he added.

Free Homoeopathy camp today

The Giants Group of Coimbatore and Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya Matriculation School will organise free homoeopathy medical camp for prevention and treatment of chikungunya.

The camp will be held at Edayarpalayam on October 18.

TNEB grievances day meeting today

The Superintending Engineer of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Coimbatore Metro, will conduct a grievances day meeting on October 18 at the office of the executive engineer at Townhall, according to a release.
