The next programme in this series, coming up on Friday, at Gujarati Higher Secondary School near Kozhikode Beach, would mark the launch of new edition of the programme, which has been specially designed for Plus One and Plus Two students.

Besides the students of Gujarati school, children from neighbouring higher secondary schools have also come forward to participate in the event. Maithri expects nearly 1,000 students to attend this event.

The programme covers a wide range of topics. Motivation, life skill planning, stress management, improving memory, concentration, time management, stress and distress, communication skill, personality development, mind control and management, management of life, and role and goal - setting are some of the topics covered in the talks.

The sessions are also held for various groups. "Our experience shows that the group that is most in need are students of Plus One and Plus Two courses students", T. P. Sasi Kumar, a senior space scientist with the Department of Space in Secunderabad, who is now the Director of UGC-Academic Staff College at University of Calicut and the principal resource persons at the programme.

Dr Sasi Kumar says that in the light of feedback from participants, a session on the art of parenting is also arranged to equip elders to support their teenaged children. The sessions also include the teenage management tips.
