Rupee weakens


MUMBAI: The rupee turned sharply weak against the U.S. currency on Wednesday and ended at 45.36/38 a dollar due to fresh dollar buying after rise in crude oil prices.

On Tuesday, the Indian unit had closed at a five-year high of 45.2750/2850 a dollar. In a active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit resumed firm at 45.23/25 a dollar and rose further to an intra-day high of 45.2100.
