Manmohan to visit Mahabubnagar

MAHABUBNAGAR: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Mahabubnagar district on October 26. Dr. Singh accompanied by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekara Reddy and PCC chief K. Keshava Rao will reach Kothakota town around 3 p.m. A meeting of Congress leaders from Mahabubnagar district will be held on Saturday at the Chief Minister's camp office in Hyderabad in connection with the visit. - Correspondent

Flights cancelled

Man found dead

ANANTAPUR: A person Ramana Reddy was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his house in Tadipatri in the district on Wednesday. According to information reaching here he was found hanging to a ceiling fan in his house in the wee hours. Injuries were also found on his body. The deceased had a debt of about Rs. 15 lakhs .-Staff Reporter

Three held on kidnap charge

ELURU: The police on Wednesday arrested V. Rajababu of Bhimavaram, along with his two associates, in the case of a kidnap, involving the son of a pastor, for ransom.

According to Superintendent of Police M. Jaganmohan Reddy, Rajababu allegedly took away Ganta Rohin Amarshan (4), an LKG student, from his convent with the help of his associates - K. Pallam Raju and Nimmala Lakshman - of Vijayawada and detained him in a house in Vijayawada. Later, the prime accused was alleged to have demanded Rs. 40 lakhs from the boy's father Sumanta Kumar over phone for his safe release. - Staff Reporter

Pancharamas

Kakinada: The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is operating special buses to Pancharama shrines in connection with the Karteekamasam, according to G Narasimha Rao, Depot Manager.

Pilgrims can visit all the shrines -- Amaravati, Bhimavaram, Palakol, Draksharama and Samalkot -- within a day under the tour package.

The special buses will leave every Sunday night at 8 p.m. from Kakinada depot and return the next day at 9 p.m. - Correspondent
