CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has enhanced the dearness allowance payable to its pensioners from 24 per cent to 29 per cent with effect from July 1, 2006. Finance Minister Birender Singh said here on Wednesday that the arrears of DA from July 1 to September 30, 2006, would be paid in cash to the pensioners. And from October onward, the enhanced DA would be added to the monthly pension. He said that with this enhancement, the financial liability on State exchequer would be Rs. 2.4 crore monthly and Rs. 28.8 crores annually.
