Tourism fair at Churu

JAIPUR: A three-day "Churu Utsav'' and tourism fair will be organised in the district town of Churu in Rajasthan from December 1 to 3 to highlight the desert town on the national tourism map. Artistes of national repute will be invited to perform in the event.

According to Churu Collector Navin Mahajan, elected representatives of the people, voluntary organisations, social service institutions and non-Government organisations would be involved in organising the event. Committees to look after various aspects of the fair have already been appointed.

The events to be held during the three days of the festival will include camel race, traditional games, decoration of camels, adventure sports and embellishment of old havelis and mansions.

Other events highlighting cultural heritage of the region will be organised at Ratangarh, Sardarshahar and Sujangarh tehsil headquarters in the district. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt will give a rendition on Mohan Veena on the festival's last day.
