Software firm MD arrested

HYDERABAD: T.S. Shiva Kumar of Supergiga software company, who had been absconding for the past two months after allegedly duping nearly 1,000 jobless youngsters to the tune of Rs. 3 crores, was arrested in Tirupati on Wednesday.

A special police team picked up him at Tirupati and brought him to the city. Investigation revealed that similar cheating cases were registered against him in the police stations at Chennai and Gopalapuram and Madhapur in city a couple of years ago.

Kumar, a B.Tech graduate, after working with a software firm for a year in Chennai, set up his own firm `SDV Technologies' there. He used to collect Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000 from jobless youngsters offering them data entry operator and software professional jobs with a monthly salary of Rs. 8,000.

After winning confidence of a few people and paying them salary for a couple of months, he would disappear with the amount collected from other job aspirants. He opened two branches of Supergiga in Secunderabad and collected Rs. 3 crores from 1,000 persons in August last and disappeared.

The Ramgopalpet police had registered a cheating case against him then.
