BANGALORE: The controversy over the decision of the Karnataka State Bar Council (KSBC) in asking advocates to boycott the golden jubilee function of the Karnataka High Court in which Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph would participate took a new turn on Wednesday with senior counsel and prominent advocate Pramila Nesargi filing a writ petition against the KSBC decision. In her petition, Ms. Nesargi, who is an ex-chairperson of the Bar Council and a designated senior counsel, said that the council resolution asking the advocates to boycott any function in which the Chief Justice participated was not right. The petition was expected to come up for hearing once it is moved. The Bar Council has called for a meeting on Thursday with designated senior advocates to discuss the issue.
Full court
A full court meting of all the judges of the Karnataka High Court was held on Wednesday morning on the premises of the High Court. The meeting went on till noon and all the courts began hearing only in the afternoon.
