PATNA: The move to shift the pontoon bridge connecting Raghopur, constituency of the former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, to Bhagalpur has snowballed into a political controversy in the context of the November 6 Lok Sabha by-election there. The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader has charged the Nitish Kumar Government with indulging in gimmicks to woo Bhagalpur voters and violating the model code of conduct.
``Influencing election''
She said it was not for the government to snatch the benefit of one region and pass it on to another with the sole intention of influencing the election. The people of Raghopur in Vaishali district are up in arms against what they described as the "step-motherly" action of the governmentand warned that they would not tolerate such blatant official prejudice against them.
