Talent that surmounts the age barrier



PROMISING: Pragya Vedprakash

Poorva Sanskritik Kendra in East Delhi is organising a Bharatanatyam arangetram performance in coordination with Lalit Kala Nrityalaya this coming Wednesday.

Pragya Vedprakash, a Class X student of Delhi Kannada Senior Secondary School, would be performing Pushpanjali, Alirippu, Jatiswaram and Varnam during the programme. Pragya started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of eight and has already participated in Nehru Bal Mela, MTNL Health Mela and various other competitions.

A disciple of Aarthi Shankar, Pragya has also won the gold medal in a dance competition at the National Cadet Corps camp at Lansdowne in Uttaranchal. Besides dancing, she has interest in other activities like painting, music and theatre. -- Devesh K. Pandey
