CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to step up intelligence and security arrangements in view of Diwali and Id-ul-fitr festivals. Chief Secretary Prem Prashant on Thursday took stock of the security arrangements in the entire State through video conferencing. The conferencing was attended by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary Home K.S. Bhoria, Director-General of Police Nirmal Singh and senior officers of the Home Department and CID. Mr. Prashant directed the Divisional Commissioners of the Gurgaon, Rohtak, Hisar and Ambala ranges to intensify surveillance in all the districts and put special emphasis on protecting the religious and other vital installations especially during the festival season. They were also directed to increase police patrolling and sensitise the people to be more vigilant. He also expressed satisfaction over the installation of CCTV cameras in the shopping malls of Faridabad and Gurgaon. Mr. Bhoria briefed the Commissioners and IGPs about the intelligence inputs received from the Union Home Ministry and expressed his concern about illegal migrants. Mr. Nirmal Singh said that the visibility of the police force would be increased to create an atmosphere of comfort among the people.
