This Day That Age
The final session of the Andhra Legislative Assembly ended on October 20. After the legislative business on the agenda had been transacted, Mr. B. Gopala Reddi, Chief Minister and leader of the House, addressing the House, observed that all members of the Andhra State Legislative Assembly would be members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature for another five years. Andhra Pradesh was their proud achievement. The Andhra State Legislature had unanimously demanded the formation of such a State. A few Telugu areas remained outside Andhra Pradesh and he was sure they would also soon come into the new State. Attempts would be made to secure those areas.
