SRINAGAR: The family of Inam Moulvi, a young doctor who was fatally knocked down by a two-wheeler on September 17 in Bijapur in Karnataka, says there is no progress in the police probe. It has appealed to the Karnataka Government to order a high-level enquiry. Inam's father Moulvi Abdul Hai told The Hindu that the family was in distress following the loss of the 31-year-old son, who had been pursuing MD at Al Ameen Medical College in Bijapur. In spite of the seizure of the two-wheeler, the name of the "culprit" was not being disclosed and no follow-up action initiated, Mr. Hai said. The family, which already lost a son Moulvi Rizwan in a militancy-related incident in 1990, has demanded compensation for the 23-year-old wife of Inam. Their marriage took place recently.
