Mehta Vidyalaya celebrations

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya here celebrated its Annual Day with a prize distribution function and a dance-drama titled "Meera".

S.C. Khuntia, Joint Secretary, Secondary Education, gave away the annual prizes to meritorious students of Class XII and X. Rahul Sharma received "Genius of the Year" award for his outstanding academic achievements and also winning the bronze medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad held in South Korea.

More bogies to clear festival rush

NEW DELHI: To clear the extra rush of passengers during this festival season, Northern Railway has decided to increase the passenger carrying capacity of 2951/2952 New Delhi-Mumbai Central Rajdhani Express and 2953/2954 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mumbai Central August Kranti Rajdhani Express by adding one air-conditioned 3-tier coach to these trains with immediate effect.

The 2951/2952 New Delhi-Mumbai Central Rajdhani Express has been augmented by one additional A.C. 3-tier coach up to January 15 next year from Mumbai Central and up to January 16 from New Delhi, while the 2953/2954 Mumbai Central Rajdhani Express will be increased by one additional A.C. 3-tier coach with immediate effect up to January 16 from Mumbai Central and from Hazrat Nizamuddin, respectively.

Meeting of credit agencies

NEW DELHI: The Union Ministry of Power and the Power Finance Corporation organised a meeting here on Wednesday with export credit agencies and foreign banks to explore the possibility of extending financial assistance to ultra mega power projects.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the embassies of Sweden, Germany and France and several international banks.
