Bangalore: As part of a campaign by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority in association with the Karnataka State Mental Health Authority and the Indian Psychiatric Association, Karnataka branch, to sensitise the public on mental illness, Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph along with other judges interacted with about 300 patients in the psychiatric wards of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) here on Friday. Mr. Cyriac Joseph, who is patron-in-chief of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, along with V. Gopala Gowda, Executive Chairman of the Authority, K.L. Manjunath, Chairman, High Court Legal Services Committee, and other judges of the High Court distributed fruits to the patients. This was done to reduce the stigma against mental illness and to create awareness about mental health issues. Last year, this was first done by the former Chief Justice, N.K. Sodhi. D. Nagaraja, Director and Vice-Chancellor of NIMHANS was present.
