Three metro employees held, released on bail

NEW DELHI:
Three employees of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) were arrested on Friday on charges of negligence in connection with the August 17 incident in which an engineer died after a metro train knocked him down between Shahdara and Welcome stations. The accused have, however, been released on bail.
According to the police, metro train driver Umesh Chandra, Shahdara Station Controller Alok Kumar and Assistant Controller of the Shastri Park Operation Control Centre (OCC) Dharamveer Yadav, had been negligent and this resulted in the death of engineer Indra Mohan Srivastava.
A junior engineer Purshottam, had also sustained injuries.
Further investigations in the case are on.
