Diwali bonanza for MTNL customers

Waiver of disconnection charge

NEW DELHI: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has announced special schemes for its customers in Delhi on the occasion of Diwali and Id, including waiver of disconnection charge of Rs.100 on landline phones disconnected due to non-payment of bills.

MTNL has decided to waive the booking charges, registration fee and security amount for its various types of Broadband services till November 15. It will also waive activation charges on new Dolphin post-paid and WLL mobile connections.

In the Dolphin post-paid economic plan of Rs.100 per month, 100 free local calls shall be given on MTNL networks. So far there were no free calls.

The calls rates on pre-paid mobile plan for local calls on MTNL networks have been reduced from Rs.1.50 to 60 paise per minute and to other networks from Rs.1.50 to Rs.1.20 per minute. The SMS charges for local SMS have also been reduced from 50 paise to 25 paise while extra talk time has been increased up to 37.5 per cent on pre-paid re-charge coupons.

Calls from Garuda mobile to Mumbai landline/fixed wireline and WLL(Mobile) shall be charged at the rate of Rs.1.20 per three minutes.

MTNL has launched a new pre-paid SIM connection of Rs.400 with talk time of Rs.200 and validity of eight months as well as a Garuda mobile unlimited plan with monthly rental of Rs.600 and with free unlimited local calls on the MTNL networks.

It has also decided not to charge the restoration fee of Rs.100 for landline connections disconnected due to non-payment.
